We believe journalism plays an important role in a democratic society. Our initiatives train writers and journalists, and then empower them to impact their local communities. We help train journalists and give them opportunities to explore stories of public interest to uphold truth and protect against misinformation. The links between community, democracy, and media are profound. The Federalist Papers were published in New York in 1787-1788 to promote the ratification of the US Constitution. In our modern world, media, newspapers, and journalists have become critical to educating citizens in the public square.
